Mission Statement
To protect and advance the interests
of the Association Membership in the area of construction
industry public policy.
Services, Products & Benefits
The Legislative
Committee provides the following services and products
to the Chapters Membership:
- Prepares and delivers testimony
in Lansing on proposed legislative and regulatory
issues and initiatives.
- Promotes the Joint Michigan AGC
Chapters Political Action Committee (PAC).
- Assists Chapter Members in communicating
with their elected officials in Lansing and Washington,
D.C.
- Helps Members identify their respective
lawmakers where they work and live.
- Issues timely Legislative Bulletins
and Reports on pending legislative and governmental
actions and laws.
- Participates in the annual Washington,
D.C. "Fly-In" sponsored by the Michigan
Road Builders Association.
- Participates in the annual "Drive-In" to
Lansing, Michigan.
- Works closely with the Chapters
Governmental Affairs Representative, Karoub Associates,
in Lansing.
- Conducts briefings and informational
seminars on the laws and regulations for Chapter
Members. Click here

- Sponsors luncheon programs for the
staff members of Michigans Congressional
delegation.
- Publishes legislative guides and
directories to help Chapter Members communicate
with their local, state and national officials.
- Participates in the AGC of Americas
National Legislative Network.
- Works with other associations
to form coalitions and industry-wide groups to
address issues detrimental to the construction
industry.

Legislative/Regulatory
Matters
The AGC, Greater Detroit Chapter is
currently working on many projects relative to Legislative/Regulatory
matters. For an update on specific governmental issues
taking place in the City of Detroit, Lansing, or

AGC - PAC
148 Club
Support Your AGC Political Action
Committee (PAC)
The AGC, Greater Detroit Chapter has an active Political Action Committee (PAC).
The PAC is used to support candidates that are pro-business and friends of
the construction industry.
AGC Members who contribute $250 or more to the PAC become members of the 148
Club (the total number of representatives and senators in the Michigan
Legislature). 148 Club Membership shows that you are committed to a strong
construction industry that fights unnecessary governmental regulations and
laws that negatively impact your business.
If you would like to become a 148 Club Member, or contribute whatever amount
you would like to, please contact the AGC, Greater Detroit Chapter Office for
a pledge card and further information. Only personal (not corporate) contributions
may be made to the PAC.
