Assignment Guidelines for Southeast Michigan
Mission Statement
To maintain and enhance the relationship
between management and organized labor that optimizes
the competitiveness and performance of Members through
collective bargaining, partnering with specialty contractor
associations that maintain relationships with the
trades, participating with industry organizations
to represent the interests of Members in labor relations
matters, promoting a safe, skilled, and diverse workforce
throughout the negotiation process, and developing
recommendations on legislation and regulations impacting
labor/management relations.
Services,
Products & Benefits
The Labor Policy Committee offers the
following services to the Chapters Membership:
- Negotiates and administers the AGC
collective bargaining agreements.
- Assists with resolution of labor
disputes, including matters which are the subject
of grievances and arbitration.
- Provides guidelines and information
regarding drug testing in the construction industry,
including the M.U.S.T. Drug and Alcohol Screening
Program.
- Offers advice concerning work assignments
and renders assistance in resolving jurisdictional
disputes and monitoring interunion jurisdictional
agreements.
- Participates in administration of
apprenticeship and training programs, labor/management
cooperation committees and fringe benefit funds.
- Represents AGC Members in prejob
conferences.
- Monitors project labor agreements.
- Publishes manpower availability reports,
union geographic jurisdiction map book, labor contract
clause comparison book, an annual Official Wage
List Book as well as information relating to future
wage rate increases.
